When to use this sign
A WiFi sign saves staff repeating the password. A compatible phone can read the network settings and offer to connect, making it useful in a café, accommodation or reception area.
Sharing the sign shares access to the network. Use a guest network where appropriate. A QR code does not hide or encrypt the credentials from the people who can read it.
How to make your free wifi sign
Copy the network name exactly, including case, spaces and accents. Check the password and router security mode. The options are WPA/WPA2 and an open network; WPA3-only scanning support varies.
- Optionally add the business name.
- Enter the exact SSID and password.
- Select WPA/WPA2 or an open network. Open-network QR codes omit the password.
- Scan with a second phone and verify the connection before downloading.
Printing and sharing tips
Keep the white margin around the code and do not stretch it out of a square. Test the printed copy in good light.
The credentials are placed in your downloaded file, not uploaded to CartelExprés. If you change the router password, replace the sign and remove old copies.
Network names and passwords are case-sensitive. The standard QR format supports WPA/WPA2 and open networks; WPA3-only compatibility varies. Test the code on another phone.
