How to print an A4 sign

A good preview does not guarantee a good print. Paper size, scaling and the printer’s printable area affect both readability and QR scanning.

Choose the right download

The PDF is one portrait A4 page, 210 × 297 mm. Its content is a high-resolution image, not selectable vector text. The PNG is 2480 × 3508 pixels and works well for sharing or placing in another document.

Start with the PDF for direct printing. If you use the PNG, choose a physical A4 size in the printing application. Pixel dimensions alone do not determine how every program will print it.

Set the paper size and scale

Open the file, select A4 and portrait orientation. Use actual size or 100% scale. If your printer needs margins, fit to printable area and check that nothing is cropped.

Review the printer dialogue preview. Do not stretch the sign to a different paper shape. Try High contrast before downloading if you plan to print in black and white.

Test before making multiple copies

Read prices, dates, phone numbers and email at the intended viewing distance. Scan the printed QR with its white border intact. A dark photo may lose detail on paper.

Avoid reflections from glass or glossy sleeves. If you laminate the sign, test scanning again afterwards. Then make only the copies you need.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there a white border?

Many printers cannot print to the paper edge. Fitting to the printable area avoids cropping.

Can I print the PNG?

Yes. Select A4 and preserve the portrait proportions in your printing application.
